Leading Successful Projects – 5 day course + work-based project + self study

Overview: BSB51407 Diploma of Project Management + self study for PMI’s PMP®
Preparation for those intending to undertake PMI’s PMP® exam for certification.

This is an intensive 5 day-course, focusing on those staff working in leadership positions in projects. It describes 9 knowledge areas (PMBOK) that the Project Manager must manage for successful conduct and conclusion of projects, and uses real-life case studies during the course to make the theory applicable.

In the course, participants use computers to complete their activities, which include learning how to commence a project, manage stakeholders, start up a team, build a project plan using the Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) method, and manage variances ongoing. This is a highly interactive, high energy course, successful completion of which results in the award of a Diploma of Project Management – an Australian Recognised Qualification.

This course’s 35 hours should be used by the participants in their application to PMI to sit the PMP® exam, for those wanting to obtain this accreditation.

Following the course, participants will be required to complete a work-based project. Self study is also recommended for those wanting to sit the PMP exam.
